[Exhibition Text:
"This work consists of ethically-sourced dead bees attached to phone screens. The phones play a looped video of a bee’s flight path, simulating the journey a bee might take while collecting pollen.
With obvious themes of nature and technology this work can be viewed as a commentary on the current ecological and political climate. The motionless bees are completely absorbed in their simulated flight, disconnected from their physical surroundings.
Pollinators live in symbiotic mutualistic relationships with flowers. Viewing this piece as a single body questions our categorisations and separations of entities, as hinted at by the materials list. This work questions the boundaries of ‘real’ and ‘fake’, ‘physical’ and ‘digital’, ‘natural’ and ‘human-made’."]
